FOR OUR LOCAL SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN!
For years, Hometown Heroes banners honoring the memory of fallen or MIA servicemen and women have been hung during the weeks surrounding Memorial Day.
In November 2018, Mainstreet Waynesboro extended the same honor to all local veterans who have served our country by offering banners for purchase. The first banners were unveiled in a special ceremony prior to being hung downtown mid-October, and they remained on light posts through the week of Veterans Day (Nov. 11). We how have nearly 160 banners honoring these local heroes who served their country.

If your loved one has served, purchasing a banner is a wonderful way to show your appreciation! Business owners may also sponsor a banner.

Veterans Day banners are hung around Market Day, which is always the first weekend in October, until about a week after Veterans Day, Nov. 11, every year.
The Hometown Heroes banners are hung before and after Memorial Day every year.
