Friday before Thanksgiving
One of Waynesboro’s treasured annual traditions, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony launches the Yuletide Season in downtown Waynesboro with music and festivities. Set for Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. People gather in Center Square to enjoy live entertainment, a 6-foot tall candy cane, Santa's “elves” distributing treats to children, hot chocolate and other goodies, and to watch the illumination of the Christmas tree.
